Respected Principal Sir, Teacher and My Dear Friends. Good Morning to All
All human beings have the same eyes, the same ears, the same body composed of earth, air, fire and water. The names Allah and Abhekh are for the same God; The same is referred to in the Puranas and the Quran. All human beings are the reflection of one and the same lord. Everybody knows Guru Gobind Singh Ji is one of the most revered figures of Indian history and culture and Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is a Sikh festival and a religious celebration that commemorates the birthday of a warrior, philosopher, poet and mainly the tenth Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
A very lovely morning o everyone present here. This is Chetan standing before you on the very special day which is celebrated all over India that is birthday of the tenth Guru of Sikh, Hearty wishes of Gurupurab to you all !
Guru Gobind Singh born in 1666 and became the leader of the Sikh when he was nine years old, following the death of his father Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth guru Sikhs who suffered martyrdom at the hands of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
He fought twelve battles and Guru’s for sons (Char Sahib Zade) were killed in campaigns against tyranny. In 1699, Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Vani – “Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh”. Creation of Khalsa was his greatest achievement. He named all his followers with the title ‘Singh’ meaning lion. He was a benevolent man who preached justice, peace and equality for all. He lived the life of saint and inspired millions of Sikhs with his writings that depicts the way he led his life. He left for heavenly abode in 1708. Guru Gobind Singh, the last of the living Sikh Gurus passed the Guru ship of the Sikhs to the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred book of the Sikhs. The granth Sahib then became the Eleventh and Eternal Sikh Gurus.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings, struggle, sacrifices continue to inspire millions of Indians. Here, I end my speech with a quote by Guru Gobind Singh Ji – “The Greatest comforts and lasting peace are obtained, when one eradicates selfishness from within.”
Let’s ignite the spirit of the noble teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji within us, and meditate on the path of service and devotion he laid out by his teachings, and by his life.
