Sindhutai Sapkal was born on 14th November 1948 at Pimpri Meghe Village. She was married at the age of 10 and her life was very challenging.
Sindhutai was a great Indian Social Worker. She was better known as “Mother of Orphans”, or “Anathanchuu Maye” or “Maai”
She was Known for her work in raising hundreds of orphans, abandoned and homeless children.
She adopted more than 1000 orphans children’s and gave them a better quality of life.
She was awarded the Padma Shri 2021 and the Ahilyabai Holkar Award in 2010. She had received more than 700 awards for her social work.
This Great daughter of India passed away on 4th January 2022. Her life is a source of inspiration for millions and she will be remembered for her noble service to society.
