MyGov Contest – Design Souvenirs for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate India’s 75 years of Independence and celebrate the people of India, their spirit and achievements, and pay tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the country. Amrit Mahotsav is a nationwide initiative to encourage ‘Jan Bhagidari’ and encourage people to come together as one nation. As India’s rich culture and heritage have played a pivotal role in showcasing India’s potential to the world, handicrafts have also fuelled this progress.

On this momentous occasion of the 75th year of India’s independence, it is expected that every Indian should take home at least one souvenir/memorabilia which has the logo/design of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). In order to motivate all Indians, of different demographies, cultures, regions, and income brackets, it is necessary to design products, of good quality and affordable prices, which can be bought by everyone.

These products can be in the form of slip pads, pen stands, pens, card holders, mobile holders, notebooks, mobile chargers, tea and coffee mugs, and so on.

In order to bring together the creative diversity of this country, and generate a set of exquisite products, with the AKAM brand/logo which can be bought by all Indians during this 75th year of India’s independence, a creative crowd-sourcing competition is being launched through MyGov platform.

In this competition, the young designers of this country are requested to submit their entries, on the basis of which these interesting products can be manufactured and put up for sale.
