Quiz on PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
The Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to the ideals of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Government has been working to ensure basic necessities to all citizens of the country through various programmes and schemes for the holistic welfare of the poor and marginalised sections of society.
These are aimed at serving the last person at the bottom of the pyramid. In the last seven years, there has been an exponential leap in ensuring last-mile delivery to the poorest sections of society. Whether it be in the unprecedented number of houses built (PM Awas Yojana), water connections given (Jal Jeevan Mission), bank accounts (Jan Dhan), direct benefit transfer to farmers (PM KISAN) or free gas connections (Ujjwala). As India celebrates 75 years of its Independence, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government has stepped up efforts to engage with the citizens in participatory governance and delivery of schemes and programmes.

पिछले सात वर्षों में, समाज के सबसे गरीब व वंचित वर्गों तक सरकार की योजनाओं की पहुंच सुनिश्चित करने में जबरदस्त तेजी आई है, चाहे वह बड़ी संख्या में बनाए गए घर (पीएम आवास योजना) हों, पानी के कनेक्शन (जल जीवन मिशन), बैंक खाते (जनधन), डीबीटी के जरिए किसानों को राशि का ट्रांसफर (पीएम किसान) या मुफ्त गैस कनेक्शन (उज्ज्वला) हो। जब भारत अपनी स्वतंत्रता के 75 वर्ष पूरे होने का आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव, मना रहा है। ऐसे समय में सरकार ने योजनाओं और कार्यक्रमों के वितरण में जनसहभागिता और नागरिकों के साथ जुड़ने के प्रयासों को तेज कर दिया है।
As a part of this last-mile delivery approach, MyGov is organising the Sabka Vikas Ka Mahaquiz Series, which is part of an outreach effort to build awareness in citizens. The quiz aims to sensitise the participants about the various schemes and initiatives and how to avail the benefits. Massive participation in the quiz series will deepen government engagement at the grassroots level. MyGov invites all of you to participate and test your knowledge of New India. Top 1,000 winners will get Rs 2,000/- per quiz.

The first quiz will be on the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. / पहला क्विज़ उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्रालय के तहत प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना (पीएमजीकेएवाई) पर आधारित होगा।
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) is a pro-poor package intended to reduce the challenges encountered by the poor as a result of disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The immediate goal was to ensure that no poor or vulnerable person or household went hungry. Under the scheme, all National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries are entitled to 5 kgs of free food grain every month. This is over and above the highly subsidised food grains available to NFSA beneficiaries.
प्रधानमंत्री गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना (पीएम-जीकेएवाई) गरीबों के लिए एक सहायता पैकेज है, जिसका उद्देश्य कोविड-19 महामारी के कारण उत्पन्न चुनौतियों व मुश्किलों को गरीबों के लिए कम करना है। इसका तात्कालिक लक्ष्य यह सुनिश्चित करना था कि कोई भी गरीब या वंचित व्यक्ति या परिवार भूखा न रहे। इस योजना के तहत, सभी एनएफएसए लाभार्थियों को हर महीने 5 किलोग्राम अनाज मुफ्त दिया जाता है। यह एनएफएसए लाभार्थियों को उपलब्ध सब्सिडी वाले खाद्यान्नों के अतिरिक्त है।
All NFSA beneficiaries (Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Householders (PHH) identified by State/UT governments i.e. around 80 Crore beneficiaries are covered under PM-GKAY. They are automatically covered and can avail the free food grains from Fair Price Shops using their existing NFSA ration cards. No new ration card or registration is required. Toll-Free helpline number 1967 has been set up to redress beneficiaries’ complaints and grievances related to the Public Distribution System. Android based Mobile Application ‘Mera Ration’ (https://tinyurl.com/fp2tmd97) can be used by beneficiaries to view their NFSA as well as PM-GKAY food grain allotment and balance quota. The facility is currently available for those beneficiaries who are successfully verified in the central ration card repository. The app is currently available in 13 languages viz. Assamese, English, Hindi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi and Bangla, and can be downloaded freely from the Google Play Store for Android mobiles. The Annavitran Portal (annavitran.nic.in) has a dashboard for monitoring the distribution of PM-GKAY Foodgrains.
राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की सरकारों द्वारा चिन्हित सभी एनएफएसए लाभार्थियों (अंत्योदय अन्न योजना (एएवाई) और प्राथमिक गृहस्थों (पीएचएच) अर्थात् लगभग 80 करोड़ लाभार्थियों को पीएम-जीकेएवाई के तहत कवरेज प्रदान किया गया है। ये लाभार्थी अपने मौजूदा एनएफएसए राशन कार्ड का उपयोग करके उचित दर की दुकानों से मुफ्त अनाज का लाभ उठा सकते हैं। इसके लिए नए राशन कार्ड या पंजीकरण की आवश्यकता नहीं है। सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली से संबंधित लाभार्थियों की शिकायतों और शिकायतों के निवारण के लिए टोल-फ्री हेल्पलाइन नंबर 1967 शुरू किया गया है। एंड्रॉइड आधारित मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन ‘मेरा राशन’ (https://tinyurl.com/fp2tmd97) के जरिए लाभार्थी अपने एनएफएसए के साथ-साथ पीएम-जीकेएवाई के तहत खाद्यान्न आवंटन और शेष कोटा के बारे में जान सकता है। यह सुविधा वर्तमान में उन लाभार्थियों के लिए उपलब्ध है, जो केंद्रीय राशन कार्ड भंडार में सफलतापूर्वक सत्यापित हैं। यह ऐप वर्तमान में 13 भाषाओं जैसे असमिया, अंग्रेजी, हिंदी, उड़िया, पंजाबी, तमिल, तेलुगु, मलयालम, कन्नड़, उर्दू, गुजराती, मराठी और बांग्ला में उपलब्ध है, और एंड्रॉइड मोबाइल ऐप Google Play Store से स्वतंत्र रूप से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है। अन्नवितरण पोर्टल (annavitran.nic.in) में पीएम-जीकेएवाई खाद्यान्नों के वितरण की निगरानी के लिए एक डैशबोर्ड भी उपलब्ध है।
PMGKAY is a unique scheme to combat the effects of the covid pandemic on the poor of the country. As a result, a total of 759 Lakh MT foodgrains were allocated for the scheme with a financial implication of about Rs.2.6 Lakh Crore. As Prime Minister Modi said, “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is working to ensure that nobody sleeps on an empty stomach.”
