Future Tech Olympiad – Assess students understanding of future technologies
CBSE has been at the forefront of introducing cutting-edge technologies to students, empowering them to learn and devise solutions using emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Cyber Security, Data Science, and more, through the various skill subjects and partner programs. CBSE is committed to preparing students to emerge as technology leaders of the future who will responsibly harness technology towards a Digital India.
CBSE in partnership with IBM had organised the first edition of the ‘Future Tech Olympiad’ in Feb. 2023 (ref. CBSE Circular No. Skill-23/2023 dated 02.02.2023). A brief report of the same is also attached for reference. Responding to the overwhelming response received from the students, CBSE in collaboration with IBM, is thrilled to announce the second edition of the ‘Future Tech Olympiad’.
This Olympiad aims to test students’ understanding and awareness of cutting-edge technologies that are shaping our future and prepare the next generation by inspiring them to lead in a tech-driven world.
Top 500 students from the Olympiad will have the opportunity to win medals (Gold/ Silver/ Bronze), while Participation Certificates will be provided for all participating students. The top 20,000 students will be invited to be part of the ‘National Future Tech Challenge’. The Top performing schools will also be given special recognition.
Timeline for the Future Tech Olympiad 2023-24
- Registration Starts – 10th Nov 2023
- Last date to conduct Olympiad – 12th January 2024
Rewards and Recognition in Future Tech Olympiad 2023-24
Medals for Top 500 students
- Top 25 students from each class (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) will be awarded Gold Medals
- Top 50 students from each class (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) will be awarded Silver Medals
- Top 50 students from each class (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) will be awarded Bronze Medals
- The top 20,000 students will be invited to the ‘National Future Tech Challenge’
- The top-performing school will receive special recognition at a prestigious 1M1B event.
- The best-performing teacher-in-charge will win an opportunity to be felicitated at a 1M1B event and will be given global opportunities/invite to the 1M1B Annual Summit.
- All participants will receive certificates.
- Top 50 schools with the most student registrations and their coordinators will receive recognition.
Future Tech Olympiad 2.0 & Syllabus
- Launch Date : 10th November 2023
- Test Mode : Online
- Eligibility : Class 9 to 12
- Paper Style : MCQs Based (60 MCQs)
Syllabus
- The following topics will be covered in the Future Tech Olympiad 2.0:
- Digital Citizenship
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
- Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) Development
- Blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) in Business and Industry
- Students are required to complete a Certificate course at https://skillsbuild.org/ to be eligible to participate.
- Schools are required to share student email ids to provide access to SkillsBuild and only post confirmation students should compete the course
How to Participate in CBSE & IBM Future Tech Olympiad 2023-24
Please Note:
- The Olympiad is offered free of cost to students in all CBSE-affiliated schools.
- Students from grades IX to XII are eligible to participate.
- Schools registering for the Olympiad will be contacted by IBM’s implementation partner 1M1B.
- Completion of learning path on IBM SkillsBuild is mandatory for students to participate in the Olympiad.
