A very warm welcome to Respected Principal, Respected teachers and my dear friends.
As we gather here to celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas, I would like to thank my teacher for giving me an opportunity to speak a few lines about Kargil Vijay Diwas.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26th of July. It is observed to celebrate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War. For removing Pakistani forces from the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh which was occupied by them in 1999.
This day is celebrated honouring our brave Kargil Was Heroes who fought for our country day and night.
This day is celebrated all over India in honour of our great heroes. It is mainly celebrated in the national capital of India, New Delhi. Every year, on this day, our Prime Minister of India pays homage to the brave soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate.
Different kinds of functions are also organized throughout the country to commemorate the contributions of our Indian Armed Forces. This day was celebrated by organizing seminars, speeches, and different activities. People share messages and quotes to remember our brave heroes. I would like to wind up my speech by sharing a few famous quotes.
Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.
On this Kargil Vijay Diwas, let us remember the true heroes our our nation who laid down their lives for our better tomorrow.
We won against them in Kargil, but we lost our dear ones in those hills.
